Welcome to STACKS:VILLAGE! v1.1.10

The latest Google Chrome browser is highly recommended

It is a "Survival Solitaire" card game heavily inspired by Stacklands. Survive in a forest, build your village, explore, craft, and fight! Play in the browser (fullscreen mode works best), or download the binary version below.

There are no ads, no microtransactions, no in-game store, and no player tracking of any kind. This game is completely free to play, no strings attached.

Options and Features

  • Created with Stacks:Engine, a card game framework that is heavily inspired by the Stacklands (no assets "borrowed");
  • ~370 cards to collect and use in Stacks:Village
  • ~100 craft recipes (some cards could be crafted via multiple recipes)
  • 5 unique bosses to defeat
  • 1 base + 10 visitable locations
  • Settlers have attributes: Strength, Agility, Endurance, Intelligence
  • Various scenarios - each having different starting conditions, different end-game goals, or even a different location
  • Game Tutorial included as the Guide/Advisor for the first scenario
  • Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android versions included!
  • Languages: English, German, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian. Localizations are provided by volunteers, so if you notice issues, please email your corrections to StacksEngine@gmail.com
  • Community support: post your questions or share new card ideas on Reddit

Combat

Both ranged and melee combat modes are supported (no combat box!). Melee units will move toward the enemy as soon as they see it. Drag your card next to an enemy card (do not stack them!), and you'll see them punching each other. Ranged units will shoot their projectiles immediately.

  • Stacked cards - the ones doing crafts - do not engage in combat but could be attacked by an enemy card.
  • Some enemies prefer to attack resource cards instead.

very much in love with the game after playing it on mobile, however it was a bit slow so tried on pc but doesn't run with error message saying 'discardvirtualmemory' procedure entry point not located, pls help.

Regarding the PC: which version of Windows do you have? This game supports Win 10/11 only. It will crash at the start on anything older than Win 10.

oh, 8 ,ok thks and good luck.

You can always play the web version on PC in full-screen mode.

Yeah but it freezes sometimes so I lose progress, chrome , which also stopped updating for anything but win 10.

Firefox will work too. For some, it even works better than Chrome… If you encounter the freeze, please let me know how you did that. I thought that I eliminated all known bugs :)

Or some other info source

Is there a wiki for this game?

really fun game and i like the viva la dirt league refrences

how can i build a castle?
it not showing in ideas

The Castle idea is in the “advanced thinking” booster, or it could be researched via the Library card.

What a good game, I just have one question what is the chance of the mirror for the world to appear again, it appeared once but I was killed, it's the last boz missing

Click on the “area map”, then click on the “Portal” location to get a travel card.

is there supposed to be a custom cursor? my cursor just disappears when i try to play it

(1 edit)

Yep, there is a custom cursor. Which browser do you use? It should work fine in Chrome or Firefox (the newer the better).

Alternatively, your cursor may disappear if you have a gamepad plugged in. If this is the case, you will see a red dot instead.

Love the EpicNPCman references :D

Love the game!

Very fun! It could even be said to be an improvement on stacklands... Especially the card piling mechanic which greatly saves space and allows more interesting setups.

Thaanks for making stacklands free <3

Please note: this game is not Stacklands! Stacklands is here: https://sokpop.itch.io/stacklands

yeah, but it's so similar that it basically is

(1 edit) (+1)

No, not really. Stacklands has different game mechanics and a lot more content. Note that all such games will be very similar visually because it is essentially a fantasy Solitaire with crafting :)

See this image for example. Does it look like Stacklands? It very much does :)

(+1)

🤔 you are right

(+1)

Anyone know how to beat ed?

Just keep beating him. There is a fixed 10% chance of true death, and you should get it done in 7-15 tries depending on RNG and your luck :)

Thanks!

Fun, but it gets a bit tedious. An explanation on stats would be nice.

(+1)

IN+AG = work speed ST = melee damage AG = ranged attacks EN = HP

(+2)(-1)

Really cool stacklands clone!

(+1)(-1)

I wonder how many differences in game mechanics people can spot :)
